My Holy grail skincare must haves!

My Holy grail skincare must haves!

As i'm getting older I have been studying my skin more. I don't have the most perfect skin nor the worst skin. However, I do suffer from break outs, dryness, oiliness and rashes on the skin. Since i've changed my skin lotion from liquid paraffin to Jergens Shea butter my skin has dramatically transformed. Obvious cuts and bruises were disappearing and I haven't got a rash on my body since using this lotion. On the other hand, my face is still a problem area. I have very obvious pours which I tend to squeeze out the white heads from, I know it's disgusting. I've now switched from my tea tree regime to a more gentle but effective one.

I still love using my tea tree wipes because I feel like they exfoliate and remove make up effectively but now I use the 'sensitive Nevia 3 in 1 micellar cleansing water' afterwards with a large cotton pad, which you can easily buy from any drugstore, to cleanse my skin. I feel like this step has made my skin softer and removes make up that the make up wipe missed. I do this morning and evening to help rejuvenate my skin.

I also go in with the 'gentle skin cleanser' by Cetaphil to help retain the moisture in my skin. I love this product because it is fragrance free, which I feel can cause rashes on my skin. the only thing I would say is that I haven't experienced the rapid disappearance of the blemishes on my skin with this product. Therefore I opted for the Boots vitamin E Moisture day cream which is suggested to protect and repair skin. I also use the 'Moisturising lotion' by Cetaphil for extra hydration.

I exfoliate once a week with the 'Neutrogena Visibly Clear Pink Grapefruit Scrub', which I feel is perfect as it is not too harsh for my skin and helps reduce the appearance of white heads around my nose and mouth.

I've very recently been using the 'dermalogica our favourites' gift set and have been loving the pre-cleanse, gentle cream exfoliator and the primer on my skin. I personally experienced immediate results when following the exact instructions on the back. I felt that it gave my skin a freshness to it and surprised with after one use I could see a difference.

I have also added the vitamin E oatmeal cleanser, which is perfect for getting rid of dirt trapped deep into the skin. As lumpy as it is, after washing this product off with some lukewarm water my skin feels as soft as a baby's bottom. Before adding my vitamin E cream I use my hylamide serum to lock in the moisture and voila.

I am very careful with the products I use on my skin and tend not to change the routine. I'm so happy that I have found a new regime that has surpassed my trusty tea tree routine. I've also got my eye on the clinique pore refining solutions charcoal mask but yet to purchase it seeing as haven't seen or read a review based on my skin type, convincing enough for me to buy it. But keep an eye out I may be adding it to my routine in the future.

M.A.C Faerie Whispers & ABH Illuminator

Continuing on with my make-up splurge I managed to get my hands on MAC's limited edition Faerie Whispers lipstick in 'among the fire flies'. Can I just say WELL DONE Mac for bringing out a shade that I personally think that compliments women on colour! I am an NC45 in Mac's studio fix fluid foundation, which I would describe as being a medium dark, and it looks absolutely phenomenal. It is a creamsheen finish but could definitely look amazing as a matte by blotting some translucent powder on top. It is perfect for everyday as the pigment is quite muted and subtle. I would apply this lipstick with a brown lip liner (chestnut or kiko 307) to exaggerate the lip line, otherwise it is perfect on its own. Its a shame this colour is a limited edition but i'm sure MAC has a dupe in their permanent collection.

THIS Illuminator has officially changed my highlighting game! I am not even exaggerating. I know ABH has brought out the new glow kit but this highlight is hands down the best I have used. I am pleased to say that this product is very finely milled as it has a silky texture to it. If you're like me and don't mind tampering with your make-up products, after taking a photo of it of course, then you can test whether the product has been made well or not. I do this by pressing my finger in the middle for a few seconds, then releasing it. If I can see a finger print or shape from where my finger has been then you can say the product has been very finely milled. If the product starts to crackle and break, then its the opposite. This way, I can determine what method to use, to apply this product.
The best application for this product I would say is either the good ol' finger or a dry beauty blender. I emphasise on the 'dry' because if you apply it with a damp beauty blender, on my skin, created a blotchy look which was not what I wanted. I purchased the illuminator in the shade 'peach nectar' as warm toned highlighters tend to provide a better look to my skin. I have been using this product a lot recently so check out the looks I have created on my youtube channel and intsagram.
